The Real Jam and Chutney Company makes preserves to recipes handed down through three generations of one family. We use traditional methods to make high-quality, full-flavoured preserves that take you back to your childhood.
Our aim is to use local produce wherever possible. We also specialise in seasonal preserves, bringing you a range of delicious jams and chutneys made when the fruit and vegetables are at their fresh best.
Raymond Blanc Visits
It’s not often you get the chance to chat to a Michelin-starred chef. But on 9 March that happened as world-renowned restaurateur, Raymond Blanc, visited The Real Jam and Chutney Co’s stall at Winchester Farmers’ Market.
He’d been spending the morning meeting stall holders and trying out local fare in advance of the opening of Brasserie Blanc in Winchester on 14 March.
Then he walked up to our stall and began tasting. He raved about our Spiced Carrot Chutney and Cucumber Pickle and bought a jar of our Raspberry Jam. ‘Your grandmother was a genius,’ he said, commenting on the recipes that date back through three generations of our family.
It was, my mother commented later, like a visit from the Queen, only more exciting. With no disrespect to Her Majesty, I have to agree. To have a Michelin-starred chef applaud your wares is about the highest praise there can be.
