Chelsea: Building confidence and skills

When Chelsea joined the Real Jam & Chutney Company, she was new to the team and a little shy. But in just a few months, she has blossomed into a confident, capable, and much-loved member of the workshop.

Chelsea’s openness to learning new skills has been truly inspiring. Whether she’s jarring, chopping, stirring, or washing up, Chelsea approaches every task with enthusiasm and care. Her jarring skills are particularly impressive—her accuracy and attention to detail make her a real asset to the team. She’s also become an all-rounder, always willing to try her hand at anything the workshop needs.

Beyond her physical skills, Chelsea’s time at the Real Jam & Chutney Company has significantly improved her wellbeing and confidence. She feels proud of the new skills she has learned and says she feels ‘happy’ being in the workshop. She’s not only developed professionally but socially, too. Chelsea has made lots of new friends, gets along with everyone, and is known for her kindness—always asking others how they are and creating a positive atmosphere.

Her dedication and growth highlight the positive impact of the Real Jam & Chutney Company’s mission. Chelsea’s story is a testament to how a supportive environment, meaningful work, and a sense of community can help people with learning disabilities thrive.

Chelsea says she’s proud of what she’s achieved—and we’re proud of her too. Her journey with us is just beginning, and we can’t wait to see her continue to grow.
